Younis Clare was born underground.

It sounds like hipster hyperbole but it's actually true. In the wild North-West of Australia in a cyclone proof hospital to be precise.

Since winning the SBS Turn it Up Songwriting Award in 2008, Younis Clare has grown up. Adventures as a session singer in the USA and Europe grafted Psychedelic and electro pop sensibilities to her Appalachian and coffee house roots.YC has performed and recorded with acts such as the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Non Records, Alexander's Festival Hall, The Exploders, Dave Gagliardi and The Vasco Era.

Younis Clare returned to Melbourne to make her debut album 'Groupies for Governesses', a showcase of her songwriting prowess.
